Does your personal insurance have dangerous gaps?

Question 1 of 10
Question 1 of 10
Do you own your home?
Homeowners insurance protects your most valuable asset. Renters insurance protects your belongings. Neither is automatic — both require a separate policy.
Question 2 of 10
Do you know if your homeowners policy covers flood damage?
Standard homeowners policies do NOT cover floods. Flood insurance is a separate policy — and most Ohio homeowners don't have it.
Question 3 of 10
Do you carry uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage on your auto policy?
Ohio has some of the highest rates of uninsured drivers in the country. If an uninsured driver hits you, your own policy needs to cover your injuries — and only UM/UIM coverage does that.
Question 4 of 10
Do you have life insurance?
If you can't afford life insurance, you can't afford not to have it. If someone depends on your income — a spouse, children, or aging parents — life insurance is not optional.
Question 5 of 10
What are your auto liability limits?
Ohio's minimum auto liability is 25/50/25 — meaning $25,000 per person for injuries. A serious accident can generate $500,000+ in claims. Minimum limits leave you personally exposed.
Question 6 of 10
Do you have an umbrella policy?
An umbrella policy adds $1M+ of additional liability coverage above your home and auto limits. At roughly $200-400/year, it's one of the best values in personal insurance.
Question 7 of 10
Does your homeowners policy cover your home at replacement cost or actual cash value?
Actual Cash Value pays what your home is worth after depreciation. Replacement Cost pays what it actually costs to rebuild. The difference can be tens of thousands of dollars.
Question 8 of 10
Do you use your personal vehicle for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, or any delivery service?
Personal auto policies exclude coverage during rideshare or delivery activity. This is one of the most common and dangerous coverage gaps we see today.
Question 9 of 10
Do you have valuable jewelry, art, or collectibles in your home?
Standard homeowners policies limit jewelry coverage to $1,500-2,500 and art/collectibles even less. High-value items need a scheduled personal property rider or separate policy.
Question 10 of 10
When did you last review your personal insurance coverage?
Life changes — marriage, kids, home renovations, new vehicles — all change your insurance needs. Coverage that was right two years ago may leave you exposed today.
